How to dry out a bounce house rental after rain?
At 3 Monkeys Inflatables, we understand that unexpected rain showers can occur even on the most beautiful days when you’ve set up your bounce house rental. We want to ensure you have all the information you need to handle such situations and still have a fantastic party. Here’s what you should do when the rain comes in and how to dry out the bounce house afterward:
- Prioritize safety: Your and your guests’ safety is our top priority. If there is lightning and thunder during the storm, please adhere to the 30-30 rule for safety. This means going indoors after seeing lightning and staying indoors for 30 minutes after hearing thunder, as recommended by ready.pa.gov.
- Wait for the rain to pass: Once the thunderstorm has subsided and it is safe to do so, you can proceed with drying out the bounce house. It’s crucial to ensure that the rain has completely stopped before beginning the drying process.
- Remove excess water: Start by eliminating any standing water from the bounce house. You can use towels/beach towels to absorb and remove as much water as possible. Pay extra attention to areas where water may have accumulated, such as corners, seams, and low spots.
- Reinflate the bounce house: Once you’ve removed excess water and wiped down the surfaces, you can reinflate the bounce house.
By following these steps, you can effectively dry out your bounce house rental after rain, ensuring it’s safe and ready to use once again. At 3 Monkeys Inflatables, we strive to provide you with not only an exceptional party experience with our bounce houses but also the knowledge to handle unexpected weather situations.
Keep in mind there is additional tips if you have extra time before you are expecting to use the bounce house:
- Air out your bounce house, by allowing it to sit in the sun for 4-5 hours. Keeping in mind if you get in and soak up any big puddles and get rid of some of the bubbles every hour it will help remove any of the standing water, and also help aid in the drying process moving much faster!
- We also have been known to pick up the inflatable by propping it gently on an additional blower to aid in the water running to one side to drain out quicker 🙂
Keep in mind that the rain will in no way hurt the bounce house, we don’t recommend jumping in a wet bounce house, just because the wet bounce can create a slippery situation that could be dangerous with kids and participants falling on one another, so our recommendation would be to towel dry occasionally throughout your event after the rain storm has passed as to ensure you won’t be in a dangerous situation with kids slipping in the bounce house.
